Day 1 - Welcome to Wales

Welcome to Wales! Today, you will be transferred to the delightful Peterstone Court Country House Restaurant & Spa. As you make your way, take in the breathtaking views of Brecon Beacons National Park, renowned for its stunning landscapes of rolling hills, enchanting valleys, and picturesque waterfalls. This national park is a haven for nature lovers, offering opportunities for walking, cycling, and spotting diverse wildlife including the majestic Red Kite. The dramatic scenery and magnificent mountain ranges create a serene backdrop that reflects the natural beauty of Wales.

Day 2 - Powys Castle & The Pontcysyllte Aqueduct

Explore Historical Marvels. Begin your day with a visit to Powis Castle, a magnificent fortress dating back to the 13th century. This castle is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, renowned for its stunning gardens and impressive collection of art and antiques. As you roam through its beautifully restored rooms, you’ll discover the fascinating history of the castle, which was once a stronghold of the Welsh princes and later became the home of the Clive family.

Next, head to the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, an engineering marvel that carries the Llangollen Canal across the River Dee. Join local foraging expert, Craig Evans, of Coastal Foraging, who offers this incredible foraging experience around our stunning coastline. Learn about the coastal environment and how shore life lives in the inter-tidal zone on his classic or extreme low-tide courses. Each course last between 6-7 hours and will include foraging for wild delicacies and cooking the foraged goods on the beach to appreciate the flavours of the coast.

Day 8 - The Dylan Thomas Boathouse

Literature by the Sea. Today, visit the Dylan Thomas Boathouse, where the famous Welsh poet Dylan Thomas lived and worked during his final years. Located in the picturesque fishing village of Laugharne, this charming boathouse offers stunning views of the Taf Estuary. Explore the exhibition dedicated to his life and works while soaking in the tranquil atmosphere that inspired many of his poems. Be sure to enjoy a delightful lunch at the café, which features local produce and a selection of Dylan’s favourite dishes, all served with a view of the estuary.
